Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July 201
2

Nearly 100 people celebrated our nation's 236th birthday at the Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July. The kids made their own flags and help to cut stars for the Liberty Hall Star Spangled Banner. Families played croquet on the lawn and enjoyed old-fashioned games of graces. Everybody enjoyed the free watermelon! And the whole event was set to the tune of patriotic music performed by Don and Sylvia Coffey. Congratulations to Becky, Lucy, and Erin Cunningham, whose "Star Spangled Red Velvet Cake" won 1st prize in the Red, White, and Blue Dessert Contest. Mia Hargis and Katherine King took the 2nd prize with their "American Shortcake," and Jewell and Vance Mueller took home the 3rd prize for their "Patriotic Fruit Pizza." Thank you to Tom Latek and Michel Hines-Skaggs for judging this year's entries.
