Karla Nicholson
was named Executive Director of Liberty Hall on August 1, 2009.
Karla brings over 25 years experience in the museum profession to
her role as interim executive director of Liberty Hall Historic
Site. She is a native of east Tennessee and has completed
post-graduate work in folklore and American Studies at Indiana
University and education at Georgia State University. She
holds a degree in English, French, and Journalism from Carson-Newman
College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Karla served previously
in positions as director of education and community services manager
at the Kentucky Historical Society, director of programs for the
American Association for State and Local History in Nashville,
Tennessee, and director of the Monroe County Historical Museum in
Bloomington, Indiana.
