Textiles
Perhaps the greatest strength of the Liberty Hall Historic Site collections is its textiles. Liberty Hall Historic Site is blessed with a rich assortment of clothing, quilts, needlework, and other textile items. These items include some very rare pieces such as the corseted maternity dress and some stunning examples of more common pieces such as the Margaret Rigby Needlework. The textile collection spans the occupation of the home from John and Margaretta to its last resident, Mary Mason Scott and shows the artistry of people ranging from a ten year old girl to fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth.
Clothing makes up the majority of the textile collection a Liberty Hall Historic Site and is the most significant segment of it. The clothing collection includes many important family pieces such as three wedding dresses worn by family members, two maternity dresses (one with a corset, an extremely rare item), and a number of children's clothes. The clothing collection also includes an number of famous makers and designers including House of Cheirut and Charles F. Worth. Much of the collection is in excellent condition and is stunning in sheer appearance.
