Karla Nicholson
was named Executive Director of Liberty Hall on August 1, 2009. She is a native of east Tennessee and has completed
post-graduate work in folklore and American Studies at Indiana
University and education at Georgia State University. She
holds a degree in English, French, and Journalism from Carson-Newman
College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Karla served previously
in positions as director of education and community services manager
at the Kentucky Historical Society, director of programs for the
American Association for State and Local History in Nashville,
Tennessee, and director of the Monroe County Historical Museum in
Bloomington, Indiana.

Beth Ann Caffery

Beth Ann Caffery Carter joined the
Liberty Hall Historic Site staff in September 2008. A native
of Peoria, Illinois, she completed her undergraduate work in
history at Saint Louis University and graduated with a
master’s degree in history from Illinois State University
with an emphasis in museum studies. Prior to becoming
curator at Liberty Hall, Beth’s experiences in the museum
field included projects in Illinois, Missouri, and Ireland.

Jennifer L. Koach

A native of northeast Ohio,
Jennifer Koach came to Liberty Hall in 2008 from Hillsborough, North
Carolina, where she was executive director of the Orange County
Historical Museum for nearly four years. Jennifer holds a
master’s degree in Public History from North Carolina State
University and a bachelor’s in History from the University of
Richmond in Virginia. She has experience at several historic
sites, working in education, events, exhibit development, and
collections management.
