Orlando Brown House, 1835

Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July 2011

At least 50 people celebrated our nation's 235th birthday at the LHHS Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July. The kids made patriotic ornaments, families played croquet on the lawn, and everybody enjoyed the free watermelon! Congratulations to Becky, Lucy, and Erin Cunningham, whose "1776 Apple Brown Betty" won 1st prize in the Apple Dessert Bake Off. Janis Fox took the 2nd prize with her "Rolled Apple Pie," while Education & Volunteer Coordinator took the 3rd place with the "Farmers' Market Tart." Thank you to our esteemed judges: Jason Wargolet and Meredith Dungan from The Bistro 241 Main and Mindy Abbott from Star 103.7.
